Gemma...
Gemma Thomas-Bohr is an award-winning child development expert with over 13 years’ experience. Gemma has helped support thousands of families in feeling confident during their children’s early years journey.
Gemma’s journey started as a Nursery Practitioner in 2009 at an ‘Outstanding’ Nursery and won Nursery Newcomer 2009 at the national Nursery World awards.
At only 21, Gemma started her own business in child development, focusing on the importance of using children’s senses.
Gemma created Pure Imaginations in 2021, as a unique parent-friendly, imaginative experience with classes for babies and children under the age of 5. Pure Imaginations won its first award after only having been open 4 months at the “Essex Mums awards 2021”.
Gemma has spoken on local radio, featured on National TV in Sam Fraire – Mum Diaries and has authored several articles in the Early Years Educator magazine. Gemma is leading the way in helping parents and educators on how to get the best for your children in those precious early years.
When Gemma is not inspiring parents or creating imaginative worlds for children, she is either outside amongst nature with her husband and Cavador dog – Bumble, or enjoying quality time with friends and family.

About Pure Imaginations
Pure Imaginations is an imaginative experience class, which is just as much for the parent as it is for their child. We are on a mission to create a friendlier and fun world for every child and their parents. We wanted to take away all the barriers in going to classes with your children – so that when your Pure Imaginations class comes around, you are both equally excited to come!
Your child will experience an abundance of imaginative, eco-friendly toys that have all been chosen to suit your child’s level of development. What is even better is that it changes every week to go with our ever-changing imaginative themes.
By allowing children to explore child-led play first, we provide the opportunity for your child to take things at their own pace rather than the class leaders, unlike traditional baby and toddler classes. This also creates the perfect environment for parents to meet, connect and catch up with other adults and find that community and village-like support feeling that every parent deserves.
We know children thrive in routine, so as well as our child-led, community play we also provide a plethora of sensory play activities to really bring the theme to life in our activity area. By doing this we supply children and adults the perfect mixture of structured and unstructured play. This creates a well-rounded approach to learning through play.

Bookings are made in fixed terms which guarantees your place being held for the term. If you book mid-way through the term you just book for the remaining weeks available.
We will endeavour to give you an alternative session within the current term booking. *This is subject to availability.
We have development specific sessions:
- Pre-Crawlers
- Pre-Walkers
- Walkers
- Pre-schoolers
to ensure that children are of a similar age and/ or development range. Sessions are designed to help you meet other parents, giving you inspiration for play activities to do at home. We cater for all children from birth to 5
Yes, you can. You would need to book both children on to the session catered to your older child’s age.
Extremely!
We have a strict and thorough cleaning and sanitising regime to do everything we can make sure you and your child are safe. All equipment is checked and cleaned constantly throughout the day. Please feel welcome to ask us how we do this, we are proud to show you how we keep you safe.
We do not allow any food or drinks (other than water or milk for children/babies) inside our classes to keep your child safe.
